Maintaining Volunteer Docents
Wednesday, April 10, 2002, 2:30-5:00 PM

As museums strive to engage the diverse audiences in their communities,
docent training and recruitment is essential to these efforts. Join us
in an exchange of ideas about managing volunteer docents.
Oakland Museum Docent Coordinator Gail Burroughs and Oakland Museum Docent
Elehna Krause will discuss some strategies used at the Oakland Museum.
Participants will then break into working groups to brainstorm ideas and
strategies for particular situations.
