Artists-in-Residence: Unexpected Benefits of Working with Artists

Get your creative juices flowing at the next Cultural Connections program, and learn about the challenges and unexpected benefits that Artists-in-Residence (AIR) programs bring to both visitors and staff. Presenters will include Kathryn Reasoner of the Headlands Center for the Arts, Pamela Winfrey of the Exploratorium, Karen Hampton of the Bay Area Discovery Museum, Kathy Geritz of the Pacific Film Archive, and Paul Fresina of SF Recycling and Disposal, Inc. Participants will also be treated to a special garden tour of sculpture made from recycled material! This program will be held at the SF Recycling and Disposal, Inc. site in San Francisco, off of Bayshore Blvd. near the Cow Palace.

Directions

FROM DOWNTOWN SF: 101 So. Exit " Monster Park / Tunnel Road" (after Cow Palace Exit). Go straight on Beatty Road until you reach Tunnel Ave. Turn right on Tunnel. Go one block to 401 Tunnel Ave.

FROM THE PENINSULA: 101 No. Exit “Monster Park.” At stop sign, turn left onto Alana Way and go under freeway. Road curves sharply to left and you will come to another sign at Beatty Road (but there is no street sign for Beatty Rd.). Turn right and go to the end of Beatty. Turn right on Tunnel Ave. Go one block to 401 Tunnel Ave.

PUBLIC TRANSIT: MUNI Lines 9 and 15 will drop you a few blocks from corner of Blanken and Bayshore. (Consult a map) From there, walk one block east on Blanken then a few long blocks down to 401 Tunnel Ave. There is a Cal Train Station right across the street from us; it's called Bayshore Station.
